Cross Country
From October through to March, our main focus is cross-country, and we participate in two Leagues across the region: The Chingford League - Saturday afternoons, at 2.30pm, covering approx 5 miles for both men and women.
These are ideal to test your fitness over the season and obviously help Trent Park compete with the other clubs in the League, Orion, Barnet, St. Albans, Garden City and North Herts.
The Sunday League - on Sunday mornings(!) starts at 11am and the course is normally 5k for women and 10k for men.
We battle it out with neighbouring clubs such as Garden City Runners, Broxbourne, Herts Phoenix, Edmonton to name just a few.

We normally race once or twice per month, with the opportunity to train outside of these fixtures, as well as enter open, general events. In both leagues, the standard is varied from the elite through to the more "fun" runner and Trent Park Running Club welcomes all. In order to run for the club, you will need a club vest, available from Trevor & Jill Jex, cost £15 plus a pair of studded cross-country shoes or spikes. Free advice on what to buy is always available at the club, together with horrific stories of cross-country experiences! Don't let us put you off though.

Cross country can be great fun plus a personal challenge, where you take on difficult terrain, mud and hills, in often wintry conditions. It's also a great base for road racing and overall fitness, enhancing your strength and stamina.
