After winning the Year 7 Schools Cross Country Race at Trent Park on Thursday and being described as unstoppable, Katie Brown once again proved she a force to be reckoned with, producing a magnificent run at Highams Park on Saturday only 2 days later . On what could be described as perfect running conditions for Mid December, Katie led from the onset, and just kept the pace going to destroy the rest of the field. In the mixed U13's race Katie finished 9th overall only 4 seconds slower than one of training partners Luke Callis (7th, 8.28) but maintained her current No 1 status in the girls race in a remarkable time of 8.34. Olivia Medcalf and Elizabeth Grimsey making her debut for the team were our 2nd and third scorers but other members were late so we didnt have a complete team. In the other age groups we were thin on the ground due to injury or illness but the ones that were there still produced some sound running. Zoe Chandler finished 4th (19.12) in the U15's race with Adam Wright managing to stay in the top 10 finishing 9th (17.57) in the U15 boys. We move back home now to the 5th Chingford League Race to be held in Trent Park on New Years Eve, where we hope to get a few more teams out due to them not having to travel far! Jan Bowman
