Despite looking like Narnia only a day or so earlier, Trent Park enjoyed near tropical temperatures soaring to around 4.5 degrees on race day under a Buncefield type layer of smoggy stuff with occasional less smoggy intervals. Conditions underfoot were a cross between Ready Brek and PVA glue - near perfect conditions then!

The Under 13 Boys and Girls set off around the top field and then vanished down the hill - without the aid of a helicopter I couldn't tell you much more except that Nervous Katie seemed to be near the front, Caitlin was a few places back with her head barely visible above the grass and Flo Jo Willard & Christina "I'm Tryin" Bryan running joined at the hip, somewhere in the middle. Somewhere towards the back, but not at the back, was our high hurdles specialist Nadia flying the flag for stylish track athletes! Eight minutes later most of the runners reappeared covered in Ready Brek and squelched their way up the final hill to the line. Nervous Katie kept her 100% record in the league with another win 19 seconds ahead of her nearest rival. Caitlin achieved her best result in the league so far with 10th position. Flo Jo and Christina finished hand in hand skipping across the line and Nadia had to wait for some stragglers to make sure they didn't get lost. Team result 2nd. Current League Position 4th.

In the Under 13 Boys race, Luke "The Duke" Callis went off hard at the start and finished in 2nd place only 12 seconds behind the winner. "Rippin'" Rory Wagstaff finished 4th only 11 seconds behind the Duke - these two have been having a ding-dong all season and athletics is the winner. (Doh! Did I really say that!!). Then after a short wait came a Tsunami of green and yellow; Antonio R (11th), Adam B (12th), Georgio A (13th), Federico R (16th), Andreas A (18th), James Mc (20th). Team result 1st!!!!! Current League Position 3rd. Congratulations - everyone played a part in this result.

Under 15 Girls - without a complete team Zoe C and Tamsin C ran solid races just for the sheer pleasure of it and boy did they look happy at the end!

Under 15 Boys - again, without a team, "Savage" Ben and Adam W were our only representatives in this race which they ran for style points only (they achieved full sixes but only a 5.8 from the Russian judge). Savage Ben was 10th with Adam W two seconds behind in 11th.

Under 17 Women - Anne B finished an excellent 4th after giving possibly her all and a fraction more. Now that's what we like to see!!

Under 17 Men - we don't seem to have any. Would some of you under 13th hurry up and have some birthdays please!
